Criminal Barrister
I decided quite early on that I wanted to become a barrister during a school trip to Sheffield University. We undertook a debate on the cloning of animals ("Dolly the sheep"), "designer babies" and their associated ethical & legal dilemmas.
I'm currently a criminal barrister based in London undertaking mainly defence work but also some prosecution & private reviews or assignments.
I appreciate the difficulties in studying law and qualifying into your dream career - from gaining the confidence to network with others and conduct public speaking, to learning to navigate the legal books, resources and working alongside your studies to be able to afford the courses! I established @cake_and_counsel for events, a platform for networking & supporting the well-being of aspiring lawyers.
I plan to diversify my practice & qualify in other jurisdictions in the next few years.
