Highlighters are essential to productive revision. Personally, I use highlighters religiously, and use them from coding facts, too recognising important information. I found that by using colours you're able to make uninteresting revision notes exciting and aesthetically pleasing. This will make you more inclined to look over notes, and ultimately easier to absorb information. Studying with a highlighter allows you to make connections visually. The more visually you can make things, the more concrete, and likely you'll remember them.
